What is the Chili Blaze?
The Chili Blaze was started in 2000 by Ray Hansen of Pinellas Park Firefighters, Local 2193 as a fundraiser for MDA. The event was designed to coincide with Pinellas Park's Country in the Park taking advantage of the crowds and advertising. It has become such a success that it has become a regular part of the Pinellas Park celebration.
Where does the money go?
All money raised for this event goes to Muscular Dystrophy Association. This includes registration fees, entry fees, ticket sales, dontations, sponsor fees and other money. Local 2193 staffs the event with volunteers from the union body and thier families.
How Much Money is raised?
The Chiliblaze has raised as much as $20,000 for MDA during a single event.
